Boey began her career in Ft Myers at WINK (CBS). She was employed as an associate producer and assignment editor. She went on to work as a weekend reporter before being promoted to Collier County Bureau Chief in Naples. She interned at NBC Nightly News in New York throughout her college years.
Boey is proud of her Asian roots as a Chinese American. She was recognized as a leader in Central Florida’s Asian American community in the Congressional Record of the House of Representatives. She is the president of the Florida Chapter of the Asian American Journalists Association and mentors journalism students. She is also a volunteer emcee for a number of charities.
