This was during the combat tour in support of Operation Enduring Freedom and Operation Iraqi Freedom.

Before joining the California National Guard, Jonathan served as a TV news reporter at News10 from June 2004 to June 2007. Masaki previously worked for Good Day Sacramento from January 2001 to June 2004 as a morning live reporter. He started his career as a TV news reporter at KGMB9 from July 1997 to December 2000. During his tenure there, he was able to break several high-profile stories. In addition to this, Masaki did exclusive interviews with high-profile politicians and celebrities.

Throughout his career in Sacramento and Hawaii, he covered several news including the trial of Scott Peterson and Arnold Schwarzenegger’s election. Additionally, Jonathan covered the recall of Governor Gray Davis and the California energy crisis.
