He began his journalistic career in Rockford, Illinois at WREX-TV where he served as an anchor, reporter, and also as photographer.
Wright later went to WBIR-TV in Knoxville where he served as a reporter and an anchor. It was during his tenure in Knoxville that he learned the importance of storytelling and community connection in news reporting. For the network, Wright has reported on various events that included the Nashville Predators Stanley Cup appearance, and Gatlinburg Wildfires.
Wright later moved west to San Antonio, Texas with an aim of joining the KENS 5 team where he served as an investigative reporter and anchor for the network 5, 6, and 10 p.m. newscasts. He also reported on the fraud trial of former state senator Carlos Uresti and the NCAA Final Four.
Wright also worked filing investigative reports on government spending and also by exposing scammers working to hurt hard-working San Antonians. Aside from work, Wright loves hiking, photography, seafood, and also college football.
