He got his start in Charleston South Carolina, where she covered various breaking stories, including American Idol Auditions and Tropical storms. From there, he moved to Texas to work for the ABC affiliate in the Rio Grande Valley, KRGV-TV. There, he served as a morning news anchor for 4 years. She won several Associated Press Awards for the best coverage on stories about the cartels, immigration, and drug and human trafficking, while at KRGV. 

After that, he went to work for a station in Detroit, Michigan, as the 5 pm news anchor, as well as the late news reporter. Also, he filled in as a primary anchor. There in Detroit, he covered everything from crime to the development of autonomous vehicles to the death of Aretha Franklin. His favorite story that he has ever covered there in Detroit is the story of a young boy who performed CPR to save his younger brother after falling into a pool.

Cardiopulmonary resuscitation(CPR) is a lifesaving technique that is useful in many emergencies, like a heart attack or near drowning in water. This older brother used this technique after watching the movie, San Andreas, featuring Dwyane Johnson (“The Rock”). After the airing of the story, Dwyane Johnson became aware of the boys’ actions and invited his entire family to the set of Skyscraper, filmed in Vancouver, Canada.
