Diaz serves at NBC Connecticut as a news co-anchor of the 5:30 p.m. newscast with Kevin Nathan. Before joining NBC Connecticut, she worked for WTNH in New Haven, Connecticut. She joined the station on March 8, 2020, and departed in April 2022. She joined WTNH at the beginning of the growth of the coronavirus pandemic. There she reported and anchored the weekend evening news at 6 pm, 10 pm, & 11 pm.
She has told stories for almost ten years in Portland, Brooklyn, Washington D.C, New York, Florida, Oregon, Miami, and the Bronx. On February 14, 2019, after seventeen innocent people were gunned down at Marjory Stoneman Douglas high school in Parkland, Florida she was one of the reporters to be called to the front lines. Eight months later, she found herself f interviewing people who had missed being crushed by Florida International University’s newly built pedestrian bridge.
When coming to her education, she attended Holy Cross High School where she excelled in English. Later she joined the University of Connecticut where she double-majored in English and Journalism. She later attended the Newhouse School of Communications at Syracuse University where she received her Master’s Degree in broadcast and digital journalism, which she says was the best thing she ever did. During her leisure time, she enjoys spending time with her family and friends, scaring her dog Winnie and also watching a movie.
