One of his most loved stories is when Dr. Mel put him in charge of setting up their big-brand new weather data recording station on the roof above the weather office at WCSU, as the weather is his favorite hobby.

A few weeks later Hurricane Gloria turned up. When the anemometer registered an 83 mph wind gust, they were all so happy, and, later on, the weather station flew past the window they were looking out of and smashed on the ground. His grandparents originated from Newfoundland, Canada, they would sleep with an open window during winter. His grandparents also had stories about times in winter when the snow was so deep and drifted that the only way out of the house was from a second-floor window.

His favorite dish is firestorm nachos, but when it comes to deciding on his favorite restaurant in New Haven he can not yet come to a decision hence he is always willing for anyone to take him out to their favorite restaurant and he will pay.

The 1978 concert at the Yale Bowl for the Eagles/Little River Band and Hear was his second-best concert. Additionally, Billy Joel is his favorite musician. When it comes to travel he has been to all 48 United States with his wife and kids and, he is looking forward to traveling to Canada, Ireland, Alaska, Hawaii, and Newfoundland.
