She is also a board member of the University of Arizona since August 2013 in Tucson, Arizona. She previously worked at KVIA-TV where she served as a meteorologist from May 2005 to May 2009.
Sullins won two back-to-back Texas Associated Press Broadcasters Awards for Best Weathercasts in 2008 and 2007. In May 2009, she was honored at the Texas Legislature for these awards. She also received 5 Emmy Awards and was also honored with the 2013 and 2016 Emmys for best On-Camera Weather Talent. Furthermore, she is also the owner of the American Meteorological Society’s Certified Broadcast Meteorologist designation.
Sullins also gave her time and effort to helping the El Paso Extreme Weather Task Force. She also taught for two semesters as a meteorologist at The University of Texas El Paso Center for Lifelong Learning. In addition to that, she also authored a weather activities book to assist teach young children about different weather safety measures.
