Before joining WPTZ, Frechette worked as an Operational Meteorologist at Maxar Technologies in Gaithersburg, Maryland, from October 2018 to November 2019. There he predicted the weather for farming needs and energy. His professional journey also includes an internship as a VT EPSCoR’s BREE (Basin Resilience to Extreme Events) Project Intern at the University of Vermont from May 2017 to May 2018.
Frechette has further showcased his skills as a Lead Forecaster and Shift Supervisor at the Vermont Agency of Transportation from November 2016 to April 2018. Additionally, he gained valuable experience as a Meteorology Intern at WPRI Media & Marketing in East Providence, RI, during the summer of 2016. Since he was a child, Frechette has been fascinated by various weather conditions, ranging from loud summertime thunderstorms to blizzards, and severe nor’easters.
