Before joining WCVB, Halloran worked at several places in his broadcasting career. He spent time at WPRI in Providence, Rhode Island, and ESPN, WFXT in Boston, Massachusetts.
At WFXT, he worked as a weekend sports anchor, and at ESPN, he was a writer and anchor, for 3 years each. He also spent half a decade at WPRI, where he spent 2 years as Sports Director. Halloran has also worked for WCVX in Hyannis, Massachusetts for 4 years; first as Sports Director and later as News Director. His career began at “Cape 11 Alive” in South Yarmouth, Massachusetts, where he began as a photographer and later became a news anchor, reporter, and director.
Throughout his career, he won multiple awards and honors for his remarkable work. For sports reporting and anchoring, Halloran was awarded 5 Boston/New England Emmy Awards. He has also earned recognition from the Associated Press. When coming to his education, he is a proud alumnus of Washington and Lee University, where he attended from 1981 to 1985. During his leisure time, he likes volunteering for a charitable cause. For a decade, Halloran was part of the charitable organization, The Hearth, where he served on the board. The hearth is committed to ending elder homelessness.

After he reported from the Patriot’s training camp in July 2016, Halloran disappeared from WCVB TV. People who liked him were curious about where he went. After he finished his report at Gillette Stadium, he went to the doctor because he thought he had a bad headache. But it turned out he had a problem in his brain called a brain aneurysm, and he needed surgery right away. He stayed in the hospital for about two weeks while doctors and nurses at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center took care of him. Now he’s out of the hospital and getting better at home with his family. Even though he was really sick, Halloran got better and eventually went back to work.
