Live weather and broadcasts from several Central Ohio events are broadcast by Bob throughout the year. He was the first 10 O’Clock weathercaster in Columbus on the WB 53 Ten O’Clock News from 1994 until the newscast ended in 1997, prior to becoming a full-time employee at NBC4. He was a replacement weathercaster for NBC4 prior to that.
For 14 years starting in 1983, Nunnally was the afternoon personality on Sunny 95 (WSNY-FM) radio. At different times, he also worked as a station assistant program director and music director. From 1977 until 1983, he worked at WNCI in the same capacity, where he also co-hosted a public relations program entitled ‘FYI: Columbus,’ which highlighted community activities and organizations.
Nunnally has worked on the boards of the LifeCare Alliance, the YMCA of North Columbus, and the Arthritis Foundation, who have praised him over the years for hosting their telethon, the Jingle Bell Run, and many other initiatives. SERTOMA, MDA, the Heart Association, the Cancer Society, the Columbus Zoo, CODA, the Central Ohio Lung Association, Very Special Arts, Unified Cerebral Palsy, the Foundation for Children’s Hospital, and others have hosted activities.
Bob is a member of the National Weather Association. After graduating from college, he followed intensive coursework and a training workshop in Birmingham, Ala. Nunnally has also worked for the station as an entertainment reporter, screening and reviewing new films as well as conducting satellite interviews with several stars of television and film. When coming to his education, he was awarded the Mississippi State University Broadcast Meteorology Degree.
Bob likes going to elementary schools and talking about staying in school and the weather to the kids. He likes to go to D.A.R.E. events and graduations as well. He reads a great deal and writes poems, and short stories, and works on a novel. Since his dad bought him a copy of a comic from Superman’s mate, Jimmy Olsen, when he was 4 years old, Bob has been a comic book collector.
