Aguayo started her professional career in Greenville, Mississippi, when she joined WABG. There, she reported on SWAC, SEC, GSC, and local high school sports. Later, she moved to Indiana, where she first served as the weekend sports anchor before being promoted to the role of sports director.
While in Indiana, Aguayo also covered stories which include The Big Ten, Minor League Baseball, The Indianapolis Colts, and ECHL Hockey. Additionally, Aguayo covered The Cincinnati Bengals, The Indiana Pacers, and the NBA D-League Champion Mad Ants.
