While working at WOOD-TV, she has covered high water levels, blizzards, floods, and two major severe weather events; the destructive high winds coverage of 2019, and the Aug. 20 tornadoes of 2016. Furthermore, she has also been awarded the meteorological seals of approval.
She teaches children science at WOOD TV’s exclusive and interactive Weather Experience every year. In addition, she can also be seen out at the beach on Thursdays for the seasonal Beach and Boating forecast. Not long ago, she participates in the National Severe Storms Laboratory Hazardous Weather Testbed study to test the next generation of a tornado and severe storm warnings thus she was selected as one of the only broadcast meteorologists in the country.
Together with Emily Schuitema who is also a fellow meteorologist, they welcome hundreds of elementary school students into a real-life TV studio for our exclusive Weather Experience every spring and fall. Portage, Mich is her native home. In addition to working in the banks of New Bern, the mountains of Helena, Mont, and NC before returning home.
During her free time, she enjoys hiking around West Michigan, at a local balloon festival with her husband Mark, and hitting up the best local breakfast joints.
