Mastromatteo developed a passion for broadcasting while in high school competing in speech and debate. It helped her to take communication as a career. When she was placed on the state level and made it to the National Forensic Tournament, she realized that she was not afraid of being in front of people. Mastromatteo interned in Youngstown, Ohio- area and Akron, Ohio.

Upon graduation, she began working for WDPN in Alliance, Ohio as a radio news reporter. While there she covered school board meetings, daily radio reports, and city council. A journey to West Virginia took her to WDTV where she served as a bureau reporter. She went to work at WMFD in Buckeye state as their reporter and anchor, a cable station in Mansfield, Ohio, and at WYTV in Youngstown as their producer, reporter, and anchor before and after the station joined WKBN and FOX Youngstown.

While there, she covered interviewed celebrities who came to town, reported from Nashville, TN for the Country Music Awards, and filed feature and breaking news reports. From there, she headed to work as a morning anchor and reporter in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania prior to joining Erie News Now team. MAtromatteo is in love with news anchoring, reporting, and writing.

She also loves meeting new people and taking part in the community. During her free time, she enjoys baking, cooking, and going to MLB baseball games. In addition, she likes spending time with her friends, and family, and is a diehard Indian fan.
