Jay Crawford Career

When he joined the WKYC studios he said that it had always been his dream to work in the Cleveland market. He continued to state that he is more than happy to come back home and work in and cover the community he loves after working in the northeast covering sports at the network level for fifteen years.

 In 2007, his popular show Cold Pizza became ESPN’s First Take after ESPN had approached him in 2003. In five years’ time, he was on the SportsCenter division to host the midday program where he remained until 2017.

 In his career as an anchor, he has been awarded several awards such as the Best Sportscaster Award from the Kentucky Associated Press, three Society of Professional Journalists’ Best Sports Program Awards, and four regional Emmy Awards. Additionally, he has made. contributions to the Special Olympics, and he has hosted the Children’s Miracle Network.

 He teamed up with Betsy Kling the Chief Meteorologist 3News, to create a new 5 p.m. show known as What’s News.
