After watching David Bloom and Soledad O’Brien on NBC’s Weekend Today from her kitchen table, Jazmin’s journalism aspirations started at the age of five. From then on, while reading her social studies and science books around the building, Jazmin could be found practicing her “journalist voice,” or, we might say, mimicking the sounds of Cleveland reporters.

As she joined the Announcement Crew at the Saint Joseph Academy and shadowed both WKYC Channel 3 News and WEWS NewsChannel 5 during her junior year, Jazmin’s aspirations became a reality in high school. Shadowing at WEWS allowed her to finally meet Danita Harris, the anchor she had been watching all of her life.

Jazmin has had numerous journalism opportunities since 2007 and she praises Michigan State University and her dedication to all of them! During the Presidential Election Coverage of 2008, Jazmin worked with SpartanTV Network as an anchor as well as a blog reporter. She interned at MacDonald Broadcasting during the summer of 2009 promoting POWER 96.5FM and creating MIKE 101.7FM promotions. Jazmin interned with HOM-TV on the reporting track this past summer, which led her to become the Sideline Reporter for the Capital City Stealth, Lansing, MI’s very own minor league football team.

When coming to her education, Jazmin is a graduate of Michigan State University’s School of Journalism. GO GREEN now! She now takes her storytelling outside of the newsroom after almost a decade on TV and inspires others with her personal life lessons.
