Pruitt started his TV career at WBRC FOX6 News, where he worked as an intern, while still in college. Upon graduation from college, he went to work for an NBC Affiliate, KWES-TV in Midland, Texas as a general assignment reporter. He spent 8 months there and then now returned to WBRC. Pruitt has always loved sports. Mentioning his education, he is a proud alumnus of Jacksonville State University. He played football during his stint at the university, being on the 1992 Division II National Championship team.
Pruitt is a strong volunteer and supporter of the community. He works with children, speaks at schools, and is a mentor. Also, he serves as an emcee of events for non-profit organizations and companies. Being the co-founders of The Dannon Project with his wife, they assist persons in transition, especially the underemployed and unemployed people, people with addictions on the road to recovery, and at-risk adults and youths. They help both genders and particularly non-violent offenders reenter society.
Pruitt also works with the Alabama Organ Center, where they inspire people to raise awareness and funds for organ donation. WBRC is so proud to work with such a devoted person both on the sports and news team.
