Before joining the 44News Team and the Tri-State, she worked as a Senior Reporter in Waterloo, Iowa for three years. It was there that she discovered the true joy of storytelling. Further, her enthusiasm for this job originates from the people she meets, the amazing stories they have to tell, and their faith in her to spread their message to our community.
In the course of recent years, she has had the pleasure of being assigned a Regional Emmy for her work with the Knox Blocks Foundation, covering the 2016 Presidential mission beginning to end in the First-in-the-Nation Caucus territory of Iowa. Additionally, she led one-on-one meetings with applicants, lead representatives, and congresspersons, and has been on the ground to observe the overwhelming impacts of outrageous climate and offer the tales of neighbors meeting up to modify.
She is a proud 4-H and FFA alumni, as well as a member of the Colorado 4-H Hall of Fame, outside of the newsroom. In addition, she is a supporter of agriculture and the men and women who work so hard to feed the American people. She was born and raised in Colorado, went to school in Missouri, and is proud to call the Midwest her home. Her passion for journalism started at a young age.
Her family’s daily routine includes watching the evening news and the local morning show to get ready for the day. It taught her the need of keeping up with current events in order to make informed judgments about her own life. Additionally, she remembers her childhood memories of growing up on a cattle ranch and sod farm in Southeastern Colorado. She helps out at ProHart Seed Stock, where she helps producers enhance their herd genetics by growing pure-bred Gelbvieh cattle.
The fact that she connects to her agricultural roots helps her stay grounded. She is also a member of the Evansville Junior League, a Double-Gold Level Figure Skater, and enjoys motivational speaking on goal-setting and empowering young women.
