Originating from the rural farmlands of north-central Ohio near Marion, the hometown of President Warren G. Harding, his childhood fascination with weather, ranging from thunderstorms to Midwest blizzards and tornadoes, brought him towards a career in meteorology.

Beyond meteorology, he is a gardener, having completed the Master Gardener training program in upstate NY during the late 90s. Despite his love for winter weather, the attraction of Charlotte’s extended growing season and many flora captivates him. The region’s lush environment, with its four seasons (with winter being the shortest yet capable of snowstorms), makes it an ideal haven for weather and plant enthusiasts.

In addition to these passions, his life is enriched by two wonderful daughters attending NC State. Combined with the charm of Charlotte, he finds himself in a perfect sweet spot.
