Amorosino serves at WHDH 7News as a Weekend Sports Anchor, anchoring the weeknight sportscasts. He also serves as a sports director and hosts the weekly Sunday night show “Sports Xtra”. He began at WHDH as a Sports Reporter and three years later in March 2001, he became a weekend Sports Anchor.
During his career, he has won an Emmy award as a sports reporter who has covered all four of the Red Sox’s recent World Series wins (2004, 2007, 2013, 2018), the Boston Bruins’ most recent Stanley Cup Championship (2011), covered all six Patriots Super Bowl wins (2001, 2003, 2004, 2014, 2016, 2018), and the Celtics most recent NBA Championship win (2008).
In 2003, he had an interview with Bruins bruiser P.J. Stock which was meant to be an instructional story on fighting in the NHL, received national attention and lead to an unplanned brawl. He worked as a sports director and anchor for Cape 11 News in Yarmouth, Miami. Later on, he worked at WPRI-TV in Providence, Rhode Island where he was a weekend sports anchor and reporter.
The National Sports Media Association named him Massachusetts sportscaster in 2016. In 2011, Boston.com’s A-List voted him Boston’s Best Sportscaster. In 2010, the CityVoter Boston A-List voted him as Boston’s Best Sportscaster. in addition, he was inducted into the National Italian-American Sports Hall of Fame-Massachusetts Chapter in September 2017.
He is also a beneficiary of the prestigious “Young Alumni Council Award” for 2000. For his high school education, he attended Don Bosco High School in Boston and graduated in 1988. Prior to that, he is a product of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Boston and is serving on the Board of Directors for the John M. Barry Boys & Girls Club of Newton. When coming to his education, he attended Boston University and graduated in 1992.
