Evans attended Park Hill High School in 2012 and graduated in 2016 with a high school diploma. Later, he joined Arizona State University in 2016, and at Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication where he graduated with a bachelor of arts degree in journalism and mass communication. Before joining Sinclair Broadcast Group, he worked at KXXV,25 News as the morning meteorologist on a 2.5-hour show, cut-ins during Good Morning America and 11 am midday from 2020 to 2021. While there, he reported on the 2021 deep freeze in Texas, one of the lowest historic weather conditions. Evans also reported on severe weather conditions in Oklahoma which included flash flooding and tornadoes. Additionally, he introduced a new look to weather graphics since he is proficient in the WSI MAX and 2019 Scripps graphics package.

Prior to joining KXXV 25 News, he served as a weather anchor and reporter at Arizona PBS from 2018 to 2020. At Arizona PBS, Evans built and presented a weather forecast with WSI MAX for the newscast and social media. He also shot, wrote, and edited news packages on issues and interests surrounding climate change, water, and sustainability. In addition to this, he would perform Facebook live weather coverage in the event of upcoming or severe weather.
