Karli Barnett Career

Barnett serves at CBS4 as a Weekend Evening News Anchor and Weekday Evening News Reporter. She began as a weekday morning news anchor at the station and held that role for 1 year and 11 months. Before joining CBS4, she worked for the CBS affiliate station, 13WMAZ News in Central Georgia for nearly 4 and a half years. Most recently, she served as a midday news anchor and weekday morning news anchor. There she began as a weekend evening anchor and reporter there and held those roles for almost 2 years. 

While in college, Barnett worked as a reporting intern at Fulton Government Television in Atlanta, Georgia for 2 months (July 2013 – August 2013). Also, she served at Kappa Delta Sorority in Atlanta, Georgia as a Vice President of Operations for 1 year (January 2013 – January 2014).

Barnett started her journalism career as a “one-man-band” journalist, where she was responsible for filming, writing, and editing her own stories on a daily deadline. She has been nominated for an Emmy Award. She was honored Peabody Awards by The University of Georgia for excellence in media and TV.

Additionally, Barnett is always ranked as one of the top broadcast schools in the nation, by The University of Georgia. During Barnett’s leisure, she likes to travel, work on her body fitness by exercising, and try new cuisines and recipes.
