When she moved to Colorado in 2009 was when she got a taste of thunderstorms, snow, and the changing of the season. and that’s where the love for science began. Currie got her feet wet while forecasting the wild weather of the Rocky Mountain state during her internship with the ABC & FOX affiliates in Denver.
In 2013 she began her career at the ABC affiliate (KAMC) in Lubbock, Texas. She joined CBS & FOX (KRQE) affiliate in Albuquerque, New Mexico after one and a half years in West Texas. Currie spent 45 years as the morning meteorologist broadcasting for the whole state of NM, southern Colorado, and northeastern Arizona.
When coming to her education, Currie attained her B.A. in ‘Environmental Science’ with a specialization in ‘Climate & Energy’ and a minor in ‘Atmospheric and Oceanic Science’ from the University of Colorado at Boulder. Mississippi State University was where she attained her certificate in ‘Broadcast Meteorology’. Currie is back in Texas and is happy to adventure all Austin has to offer, she has begun to adventure through ATX’s food & wine scene.
