Haythorn has covered a number of prime stories since he joined the Denver 7 team, including the Waldo Canyon Fire, the September 2013 Colorado floods, and the Black Forest Fire. In May 2014, he traveled to San Diego County, California during the devastating wildfires in north San Diego County to assist our sister station with its coverage.
When coming to his education, he graduated from Colorado State University in Fort Collins in 1998. In Cheyenne, Wyoming, Lubbock, Texas, and Greensboro, North Carolina he worked for stations as a reporter/anchor in addition to joining Denver 7. He likes spending his leisure time helping his brother on the family farm in northern Colorado where he was raised.
