Her journalism career began at WENY-TV in Elmira, New York where she served as the morning news. She relocated to Jacksonville, Florida where she worked at TEGNA on First Coast News. While there, she served as a weekend anchor and reporter after she had finished exploring the Twin Tiers. Afterward, she relocated to Hampton Roads, Virginia where she worked at WAVY.

In addition, while at WAVY-TV she contributed to the launch of two new evening newscasts. It makes her happy to return to TEGNA and focus on what the company does best hard-hitting journalism. During her career as an anchor, she has received several awards from various organizations.

Moreover, the Virginia Associated Press Broadcasters awarded her Best Newscast at a Large Television Market. In addition, for a Sports News Story, she did the Associated Press Best Coverage gave her an award. On two separate occasions, she covered the arrival of President Trump and Vice President Mike Pence. Also, she contributed to team coverage of a number of high-profile stories.

For instance, the tragic mass shooting in Virginia Beach. In addition, during the tornadoes and hurricanes in Virginia, North Carolina, and beyond, she anchored wall-to-wall coverage. Furthermore, she covered the young boy’s battle with cancer and allowed him to find the life-saving liver he needed.

This allowed Laura to experience first-hand the life-changing positive impact her work can have in 2019. Massachusetts is her native home. While she was a child, she would sing at a Boston Red Sox game with her school choir. Further, this remains a cherished memory and this is where her love for music began.

Furthermore, still at a young age, she started writing children’s stories and still developed an interest in journalism at the same time. She published a book she wrote while in the fifth grade dubbed Chicken Pox Explosion. Further, signing it for the first time remains her best moment.
