Southwick relocated to Montgomery, Alabama, where she broadcasted many tropical systems, harsh wind events, tornadoes, and the frequent winter weather for WSFA. She received a Murrow Award with her team for their broadcast of a fatal EF-4 tornado.

After Montgomery, Southwick joined WDSU in New Orleans where she picked up Emmys for her team’s broadcast of Hurricane Ida and an EF-3 tornado. Now, she is excited to return home and bring her experience to the First Coast.
