Since she was very young, Loren had lots of pets and wanted to be a biologist. Later, she went to an all-girls high school where she joined a men’s rowing team. While at Whitman College, she reluctantly started liking acting when she took a fine arts course just to finish it. But the class was full, so she ended up in a beginner acting class. To support herself in college, she worked on a commercial fishing boat in Alaska. Loren fluently speaks English, Italian, and Spanish.
