Pinder serves WTVR CBS6 as an evening anchor and reporter. He joined the station in August 2021. Previously, she served in South Carolina’s capital city at legacy NBC affiliate WIS as a weekday morning anchor.

While there, he co-anchored WIS Sunrise, WIS’ Emmy Award-winning morning newscast, with Hannah Cumler and Meteorologist Adam Clark. With the morning team, he also anchors an affiliate newscast on The CW network every day. Leland joined WIS in October 2016 as a native of Charlotte, North Carolina, and a University of North Carolina Wilmington graduate.

Further, he encountered the career spotlight of partaking in an Emmy Awarded team. Leland partook in WIS’s broadcast on major stories. For instance, a statewide teacher protest at the SC State House, protests following the death of George Floyd, and the abduction and tragic killing of a 6-year-old South Carolina girl.

Also, he produced and hosted a weekly half-hour community affairs program dubbed Awareness. The program largely concentrated on matters and topics significant to Black Americans and other minority populations such as matters facing women, the elderly, and the LGBTQ community.

Leland worked as an assignment editor, reporter, and weekend anchor at Spectrum News 1 in Charlotte and Wilmington, as well as WCTI in the Greenville-New Bern market, covering eastern North Carolina, before moving to South Carolina. Leland kept himself busy in college as a member of the university’s male Cappella group and as a representative in student government. He enjoys spending time outside when he is not at work, visiting state parks, or taking quick trips to the beach or mountains.

He also enjoys reading (mainly biographies), golfing, not being as adept at tennis as he once was, and listening to music.  Pinder has really enjoyed his time in South Carolina and is happy to call the capital city home.
