Lexie O’Connor Education

O’Connor attended Boston University where she graduated Magna Cum Laude with a degree in Broadcast Journalism. While at BU, she reported, anchored, and produced BUTV’s news magazine show “Inside Boston” and spent a semester in London as part of ABC News International’s web team. O’Connor became a certified Meteorologist from Mississippi State University while reporting and forecasting in Maine.

O’Connor has been a part of the CBS13 News and Weather team for the past 7 years, first as a Multimedia Journalist and Reporter prior to joining the weather team. She is a 2 time Emmy Nominated Reporter/Meteorologist.

She has reported on several big stories in Maine as one of the first reporters on scene when Somerset County Sheriff’s Corporal Eugene Cole was shot and killed and the manhunt that followed to when five tornados came through the Lakes Region in the summer of 2017. O’Connor now brings her experience as a reporter and covering dozens of blizzards and storms to the green screen.

O’Connor is originally from Massachusetts and loves now calling Maine home. Before Portland, she worked as a General Assignment Reporter and fill-in anchor, and producer at WKTV in Utica, N.Y. At WKTV, O’Connor covered the fatal shooting spree that killed four and ended in a standoff in Herkimer, New York, the outbreak of Central New York’s bath salts epidemic, and the merging of two school districts. Additionally, O’Connor has been credited for giving the first reports for Central New York live from Boston following the Marathon Bombings.

When she is not working, she enjoys spending time with family and friends. Lexie loves Maine and all it offers from the mountains to the beach but especially the beach.
