Monroe serves at WTHR Channel 13 News as a morning meteorologist. Before joining WTHR, she worked as a morning/midday meteorologist at Cox Media Group station in Memphis, Tennessee. Before that, she spent four years forecasting the weather at WTHI-TV in Terre Haute, Indiana. There she also served as a Chief Meteorologist for 2 years. She interned at WISH-TV for 3 months (June to August 2010).
In 2014, she was honored with her first weather Emmy nomination and was awarded the Spectrum Award for Best Weathercast by the Indiana Broadcasters Association. She also received praise for “Outstanding Weather Operation” from the Associated Press. When coming to her education, she graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Meteorology and Climatology with a minor in Telecommunications from Ball State University.
Growing up in a drag-racing household, Lindsey became interested in the weather. Early on, she studied how to view weather instruments and apply the conditions of the environment to how the car can run. It is the way the weather has an effect that she finds interesting all around us. Lindsey loves engaging in voluntary and community involvement activities while not predicting the weather.
Ever since being diagnosed with lupus in 2004, she has been a proud member of the Lupus Foundation of America. She has since partnered with the Children’s Miracle Network, which raises funds throughout North America for 170 children’s hospitals.
