Murrow Award, the Society of Practicing Journalists’ National Sigma Delta Chi Award, and two National Headliner Awards. Swan has won state Emmy awards for Best Anchor” throughout his WTHR tenure and has been honored by the Indiana Associated Press as “Best Reporter”

Swan has toured the globe and won several Emmy awards for his Olympic coverage. He will direct the coverage of WTHR until the 2020 Summer Olympics with a trip to Japan. Swan has traveled to capture human interest stories in Brazil, Russia, London, Vancouver, Beijing, Torino, and Athens.

During his WTHR career, Swan landed several exclusives. He was the only reporter from Indianapolis to hold an interview at his home in Las Vegas with former heavyweight champion Mike Tyson. Marcus Schrenker, the Geist wealth manager who staged his own suicide by falling out of an aircraft, had his first jail interview. Swan also had his first interview with Henry Lee Summer, an Indiana rocker, who described his drug addiction. Before the singer unveiled his “No Better Than This” tour, Swan held John Mellencamp’s first TV interview.

Swan was honored by the Society of Professional Journalists with a 2018 National Sigma Delta Chi award for “WTHR Storytellers” which included his “Miracle of the Mind” story about an Indiana man who found a secret creative ability after sustaining a brain injury.

The inspirational story chronicled Greenfield Marine Josh Bleill, who suffered the loss of both legs in an Iraq bomb blast. Swan won a National Edward R. Murrow award and a National Headliner award for “Mission Complete.”

Swan worked with KTVX-TV in Salt Lake City, WISH-TV in Indianapolis, KITV-TV in Honolulu, KESQ-TV in Palm Springs, KHJ-TV in Los Angeles, and Disneyland Broadcast Services prior to his career with WTHR. Swan emcees a wide range of activities in his spare time, gives his testimony to church organizations, and works with the Indianapolis Lamplighter Ministry Inc.
