Lydia has also covered various major political conventions and flown with the United States Navy Blue Angels and the United States Air Force Thunderbirds, piloting an F-16. She is particularly proud of her volunteer work with the March of Dimes, the Alzheimer’s Association of Northeastern New York, The Legal Project, Zorepad Ukrainian Folk Dancers, Living Resources, and the Center for Independence.

Lydia received an award from the Massachusetts Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children for her efforts to promote the safety and well-being of children. Lydia came to the Capital Region from WWLP-TV 22 in Springfield, Massachusetts, where she spent four years anchoring the 5 p.m. news and reporting.
