Schlegel works at NEWSnet as a National Correspondent. Additionally, she is responsible for shooting all interviews and needed b-roll, and pitch, schedule, and book enterprise stories. She also travels to different states to report on national breaking news and coordinates with a team of producers from the field. Prior to that, she worked at 9 and 10 News-Heritage Broadcasting. While at 9 and 10 News, she worked in communication with the co-host, producer, and reporter to schedule live content for each show, and checked, edited, and approved scripts for each broadcast.
Schlegel was a reporter on Michigan This Morning’s “On the Road”, where he, worked early mornings with live interviews from as early as 5:45 a.m. Between December 2019 and September 2021, she served as a Multimedia Journalist and maintained knowledge of current events. She also organized interviews with news subjects transcribed interview notes and produced live shots and packages. Additionally, she served as a Fill-in anchor when needed.
Between August 2016 and February 2019, she was a Speech Team Coach, at Joliet West High School. While there, she actively assessed the performance of students and came up with constructive ways to improve and assisted in editing scripts to ensure more detailed storytelling.
