Bodnar attended Northeastern University, where she graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Journalism and a minor in Cinema Studies in 2010. While in college, Bodnar played three years of NCAA Division I soccer and spent a semester in Los Angeles as an intern on The Ellen DeGeneres Show.

She started her stint there as a general assignment reporter in October 2012 and was promoted to investigative/general assignment reporter in April 2015.
Bodnar was promoted to anchor and investigative reporter in August 2021. In August of the following year, she was promoted to evening anchor of the 5, 6, 7, 10, & 11 p.m. weekday newscasts on CBS13 and FOX23, as well as the chief investigative reporter. In this capacity, she led an award-winning investigative unit that helped in the recovery of tens of thousands of dollars for consumers.
Bodnar enjoys stories that can lead to positive change or hold the powerful accountable. She covered the sinking of the El Faro, the deadly 2014 hayride accident in Mechanic Falls, and the Noyes Street fire that killed six young people in Portland.
Bodnar has investigated the state’s critical volunteer firefighter shortage and a lack of lockdown drills in local schools. Her work has been recognized with New England Emmy Awards, the Maine Association of Broadcasters, and the Edward R. Murrow Awards. Before moving to Maine, she worked as a general assignment reporter at KIFI in Idaho Falls, Idaho.
