He is a long-standing member of the National Weather Association and the American Meteorological Society and has filled numerous board seats with those organizations’ local branches.
For several colleges, organizations, and political associations, Mark has been a guest speaker to address meteorology, broadcasting, and climate change. He is also a regular NPR interviewee for their national broadcast, Here and Now, among others. Elliot has also been the Athlete Awards emcee for the Boy Scouts of America Peach. He loves camping, crafting beer, hiking, and sometimes traveling to run races that finish at craft breweries while not broadcasting.
