Zinni serves at WFSB in Hartford, Connecticut as the anchor and reporter. Prior to WFSB, he worked at FOX 8 News. In 2014, Mark joined WFSB as an anchor and reporter and can be seen on weeknights with Denise D’Ascenzo on Eyewitness News at 5:30 and with Erin Connolly on Eyewitness News at 11. 

He moved from Salt Lake City, where he previously worked at KTVX, to Cleveland. Mark spent more than six years at WPRI in Providence, Rhode Island, where he was a weekday morning news anchor and a general assignment reporter, prior to working in Utah.

In 1995, Mark got his start on TV as an intern at WKYC and NBC’s Today Show in New York. At WICU in Erie, Pennsylvania, he was then hired to produce and report. Mark previously worked at WTOV in Steubenville, Ohio, for more than four years as an anchor and reporter. In 2000, he was also a news writer and editor on FOX 8.

Mark is a winning reporter and producer for the Emmy and AP awards. In 2003, he was honored by the National Association of Television Arts & Sciences for his role in West Warwick, Rhode Island, covering The Station Nightclub fire.

Mark was honored again in 2007 by the Boston chapter of NATAS with Emmy nominations for his work as both an anchor and reporter. For his work in Cleveland in 2009, Mark received three additional nominations from the Lower Great Lakes chapter of NATAS in 2010.

Mark has worked all over the world as a journalist. Following the terrorist attacks on 9/11, he reported from New York, Pittsburgh, and Washington, DC. Mark broadcast live for more than 12 hours on local and network television during a fire at The Station Nightclub in West Warwick, Rhode Island, while still new to New England in February 2003. 100 person died and several more were injured during a concert when a fire erupted.

Mark interviewed presidential candidates, the Dalai Lama, and other national leaders, and made several trips for entertainment news to Hollywood. Mark covered the American Idol finals from Los Angeles in 2004 and 2006 and was the first local reporter to interview host Simon Cowell live. Also, Mark traveled to L.A.

When coming to his education, Zinni attended and graduated from Notre Dame-Cathedral Latin High School in 1994. He is a 1998 graduate of St. Bonaventure University’s School of Journalism & Mass Communication in Olean, NY.
