Maureen O’Boyle (born Maureen Jeralyn O’Boyle) is an American reporter/anchor known for having worked for WBTV in Charlotte, North Carolina. She served as a lead anchor at the station. She joined the station in the summer of 2004 and departed in 2022.

O’Boyle gave birth to Keegan, her daughter, in 1999. She brought her daughter every day to the “Extra set and had a crib in her office for Keegan. O’Boyle quit the business and retired to a 100-year-old cabin in Hurley, New York after contract talks with Warner Brothers fell through.

She also solo-anchored PrimeTime, the only newscast for Charlotte at 7 p.m. from Monday to Friday. She made an announcement on May 2, 2022, that she would be departing from WBTV in June 2022. However, she did not state the reason for her departure and her next stop.
Maureen worked on national television before joining WBTV, anchoring syndicated shows for Warner Brothers and Twentieth Television, including “EXTRA” and A Current Affair.” Maureen was also at the helm of her own talk show called “In-Person with Maureen.” for Warner Brothers.

Maureen aims to add visibility, support, and study to a disease that doesn’t get a lot of headlines with the help of the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network Charlotte Affiliate. PanCAN Charlotte says that pancreatic cancer is now the 3rd leading cause of death due to cancer, surpassing deaths from breast cancer in 2016.

Maureen’s work with Metrolina’s Second Harvest Food Bank inspires individuals through monetary and food contributions to give back to the community. In more than 19 counties, they also help stock food pantries throughout the Charlotte area. Dress for Success has enlisted the support of Maureen to help women shine as they step back into the workforce.
Her work with Charlotte’s Assistance League gives homeless children clothing so that, considering the particular difficulties they face, they are prepared and enthusiastic about learning. Through her work with the American Heart Association’s “Go Red for Women” initiative, Maureen aims to educate women on how serious the danger to all of us of heart disease is.
Through raising awareness about the need to donate blood, Maureen supports the Community Blood Center of the Carolinas. Her visits to the hospital with sick children are sure to bring Maureen as much joy and cheer as she attempts to share with them.
