When it comes to his profession, Brownlee serves at KNBC 4 News as an evening anchor, appearing on the 11 AM and 4 AM newscasts.
Besides his anchoring role at KNBC, Brownlee is also part of the station’s program, “Clear the Shelters” pet adoption drive, Juneteenth parades, and Kingdom Day. He is also actively involved in several other community events and is part of the NABJ – National Association of Black Journalists. Brownlee has won several awards over the years of his journalism career. In the year 2020, for KNBC’s “Best Daytime Newscast” (at 4 PM), he contributed to the station winning an LA Emmy Award. Also, for “Best Sports Reporting”, Brownlee was recognized with a Golden Mike Award.
Before joining KNBC-TV, Brownlee worked for Spectrum News – My13News as a weekend news anchor and general assignment reporter. Brownlee worked for KCOP/KTTV in Los Angeles, California as a general assignment reporter and fill-in anchor, before going to Spectrum News. Brownlee has also worked for CBS2 in Los Angeles, CA as a general assignment reporter for 3 years.
He started his broadcasting career working in radio promotions, then switched to TV in the year 1995, when he worked at the NBC Affiliate in Yuma, Arizona as a general assignment reporter. Soon, he got promoted to be an anchor there. Later on, he became a reporter for a show called “Real TV.”
