She was born in Fort Knox, Kentucky, and later on, she grew up around the globe in; Hong Kong, Singapore, Germany, and eight states in the United States. After she had completed her education she was able to secure a job as a reporter and anchor at WUAL-FM which is located in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, and at Alabama Radio Network in Mobile, Alabama.
During her time there, she worked as an anchor and a producer. Later on, she worked in Panama City, Florida at WMBB serving as a morning and midday anchor and producer. Further, she serves as an investigative reporter at WPTV West Palm Beach, Florida at the 5 pm Newscast, and also as a news anchor on the same station. Additionally, she serves as a 10 pm anchor for WFLX.
In her career as a journalist, she has earned fifteen Regional Emmy awards, a Regional Edward R. Murrow, and numerous Associated Press Awards. She won the NATAS Emmy Awards (Suncoast Chapter) in 2003. From 2004 to 2006, she was a nominee for the Emmy award. Later on, in 2007- 2010 she won the Regional Emmy award.
Additionally, in 2008, she was awarded by the RTNDA an Edward R. Murrow Award in the best news documentary category. She was also a finalist in the 2007 SPJ Regional Green Eyeshade Award. Furthermore, she has also been recognized by SPJ Florida Chapter, Florida Associated Press, and Alabama Associated Press, and in 2004, she was honored with a MADD Media Award.
Her work has helped expose government waste when it comes to Medicare spending, pushed local legislation that has influenced restaurant cleanliness, and it has changed policies in guardrail protection along Florida’s busiest roadways. When she worked at an NPR-affiliated station, this was when her career in radio news began.
Later on, her television career began when she was able to secure a job in Panama City, Florida at WMBB-TV. In 1996, she came to West Palm Beach after she received an opportunity to work at WPTV News Channel 5. During her leisure time, she enjoys reading, working out, and beautiful South Florida.
