Before joining FOX23, he worked for KSWO-TV in Lawton, Oklahoma as a Sports Director for 3 years and 11 months (August 2003 – June 2007).
Thompson began his career at a station in Waco, Texas where he worked in the news department. From there he now joined KSWO. He has worked on the sideline for 3 semifinal games and 3 OU national championship games, as well as other TU, OSU, and OU bowl games. Thompson has reported on the Thunder in the NBA Finals as well as all 7 games of that the Golden State Warriors and the amazing 2016 Western Conference Finals showdown.
Thompson has been the voice of the Tulsa-area Cox Communications high school football broadcasts on the YurView channel since the year 2013.
