He reported on events such as Dallas Cowboys football, the 2001 US Open, the 2003 Rose Bowl, and the 2002 Final Four. He also followed the Oklahoma Sooners as they were capturing the national title at the 2001 Orange Bowl. Terrell also took part in the 3 OAB Award-winning OU football specials and earned an Associated Press (AP) Sportscast in the year 2004.
Terrell started his career at KTEN-TV in southeast Oklahoma where he served as a sports reporter, before making his way up to weekend sports anchor. There, he provided an extensive report on the 1999 Oklahoma City tornadoes and the Oklahoma City Bombing. He also served as a co-host of a variety of radio programs in Tulsa City.
