Before joining WKRN, she was in Washington, DC where she worked at WUSA9  as a reporter and fill-in anchor. In addition, she has worked for the Washington Football Team, WHAG in Hagerstown, and worked at Lexington, Maryland, Kentucky, and, WLEX. 

She has been awarded a number of Association Press awards. In 2020, she was named a winner of the UT Knoxville Alumni Volunteer 40 Under 40 Award. She volunteers for animal welfare organizations as she loves animals and she uses her platform to encourage adoption. She is also on the board of Metro Animal Care and Control’s volunteer arm, Friends of MACC.

Her daughter was born prematurely at 28 weeks and since then she has been involved with the Tennessee chapter of the March of Dimes. When coming to her education, she graduated with a bachelor’s degree in journalism with an emphasis in political science from the University of Tennessee and, is #VFL.

She has covered stories all over the country including; Inauguration in 2017, riots in Baltimore, the NCAA tournament, White House press briefings and fence-jumpers, several Kentucky Derby races, presidential elections, the Philadelphia train derailment, the landmark same-sex marriage decision at the Supreme Court and the hurricanes in the Carolinas and tornadoes in Kentucky. 

She loves stories, specifically, stories about people and she can not wait to tell the story about the people in Tennessee. Additionally, she is an author and she has written a children’s book, called Live Like Grunt.
