Orne serves at WKRN News 2 as an anchor of “Good Morning Nashville” every weekday morning, from 4 a.m. to 7 a.m. and at 11 AM. In 1995, he came to Nashville for weekend weather and reporting duties and has ever since been in the station for over 25 years.
He worked in Mid-Coast Maine at a family radio station for some years. At an early age, he experienced and developed an appreciation for the inner workings of a television newsroom as a third-generation broadcaster. Over the years of his career, he has covered major stories and weather events including the day of the April ’98 Tennessee tornado outbreak where he spent almost 17 hours on the air. He has also been privileged to also assist with the stations’ hurricane coverage throughout the years, with quite a number of trips to the gulf coast during a record-breaking 2005 season.
When coming to his education, he studied economics and business administration at the University of Denver, while still playing in the school’s lacrosse team. During his leisure time, he enjoys flying. home repair and golf which are some of his hobbies. In addition, he spares time with several Nashville organizations including The Nashville Ronald McDonald House and Second Harvest Food Bank.
