Lawson Muse has worked at NBC4 – WRC as an anchor for News 4 at 4 with Leon Harris. She also hosted News 4 Your Sunday and Reporter’s Notebook, weekly public affairs programs every Sunday morning. During NBC’s Today show, Muse joined News4 in 1982 as the anchor of local newsbreaks. She then became co-anchor of News4 at Noon, one of the nation’s first all-female anchor teams, along with Barbara Harrison. The weekend editions of News 4 at 6 and News 4 at 11 were later hosted by Muse.

Muse began her radio broadcasting career, working on stations such as WTOP-AM, WOL-AM, WHUR-FM, National Public Radio, and the former Mutual Black Network. Muse started her television broadcasting career at Baltimore’s WBAL-TV where she anchored newscasts on weekends at 6 & 11 pm and worked as a general assignment reporter.

Several Emmy Awards were won by Muse, including two Best Anchor statues. She has also been honored by the University Women’s American Association, the National Association of Black Journalists, the New York International Television and Film Festival, the Black Women’s National Congress, Inc. DC Chapter, and the Network of Minority Business & Professionals. When coming to her education, Muse is a graduate of Howard University, magna cum laude, where she studied broadcast management.
