Upon graduation from college, he had his 1st on-air job at KCBY in Coos Bay, Oregon where he worked for 1 year. From there, he joined the NBC affiliate, KVAL/KMTR in Eugene, Oregon as a news reporter and primary meteorologist.
Maranon gained President Donald Trump’s attention in the year 2020 on the tarmac at Tulsa International Airport next to Air Force One. This was at the time when Maranon yelled questions at Trump and got a smile, a wave, and thumbs up.
