During her tenure in the network, she reported on several events, including the 2000 Presidential election, the Elian Gonzalez saga, and Timothy McVeigh’s execution. She also traveled to Vatican City for President Obama’s visit to Pope Francis and also covered the Presidential Inauguration in the years 2009 and March 2014. Aside from work, Simmons enjoys traveling, getting to know viewers on social media, baking, and foreign films.
