A Mississippi Association of Broadcasters Award in the Documentary Category was awarded to him for his work in Mississippi. Additionally, he was part of the news team in Tennessee that was awarded a number of Emmy awards for its overall news excellence. Quite a number of publications such as Nashville’s SixFifteen Magazine and the Communicator have featured him.
He is very passionate about serving the youth in the community. This being said, he has been involved with many community service programs. As a result, the Iota Phi Lambda Business & Professional Sorority honored him for his community service outlining him as one of its “Outstanding Business Leaders.” When coming to his education, he attained a Bachelor of Arts Degree in English with an emphasis in journalism from Tougaloo College in Mississippi.
He is an avid runner, who is an active participant in half and full marathons such as Arizona, the Music City marathon, the Gupton Dodge Tom King Classic Half Marathon, and the Rock’N’Roll Marathon in Phoenix, Arizona. Chicago is his native home. He is a member of the Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity.
