Palombo serves as the Anchor, Investigative Reporter, and Political Correspondent at CBS2. Since he joined CBS2, he’s managed to enclose several stories including the Trump administration as a member of the White House press corps. In addition to that, he was also inside the Capitol where he reported the January 6th, 2021, attack. He also reported on the COVID-19 Crisis, the subsequent election and inauguration of President Joe Biden, and the Russia Investigation. In 2018, he won an Emmy Award for enclosing the political response to the Stoneman Douglass Massacre.
Prior to joining CBS2, he worked at KTVU in San Francisco where he served as the Chief Investigative Reporter, Political Analyst, and evening Anchor. During his tenure at KTVU, he enclosed several major stories including the Iowa Caucuses, the campaign trail, the inauguration of the 45th president, and the Republican and Democratic National Conventions.
His investigative stories unmasked a jail healthcare crisis that involved injured and dead inmates, a statewide traffic problem threatening the safety of millions of people, and a major financial scandal in public transportation. During his time at KTVU, he won three Emmy Awards and two prestigious Murrow Awards for investigative reporting.
Before he joined KTVU, he worked at WPLG Miami, Florida where he served as an investigative reporter. During his tenure at WPLG, he received 9 Emmy Awards for his extensive reporting of breaking news, local politics, and crime and punishment. He was also the lead reporter of several hurricanes Sandy and countless tropical storms. He also enclosed the Supreme Court decision on gay marriage, the Sandy Hook Elementary School Shooting, the Baltimore Riots, and the Ferguson Unrest.
Palombo anchored the first national newscast covering LGBTQ+ issues for CBS News in the history of the USA. He also went to California to enclose the passage of Proposition 8 and the Financial Crisis of 2008. He previously worked at KENS in San Antonio, Texas where he served as an anchor and investigative reporter from 2007 to 2008. Prior to that, he worked at KCBS and KCAL where he served as a reporter.
