Bohnhoff is working for WCIA as a meteorologist. After joining the station as an intern in 2022, WCIA 3’s Jack Gerfen primarily trained him and taught him the fundamentals of being a TV meteorologist. Jack also schooled him in the everyday work at the station.
In the summer of 2022, Jack left the station leaving a spot at the station. Bohnhoff secured the open spot and was employed as a part-time member of the weather team in August. After graduating college, he was hired full-time as a full-time meteorologist in May 2023.
The Dieterich native saw the diverse weather while growing up. When he was 6, the weather terrified him after his neighbor’s house was hit by a tornado. As time passed, his fears turned into curiosity, and nearly everyone in the region that he wanted to be a meteorologist since he was an elementary school student.
