Shon also covered the Memorial of the Twins Tower, the Republican National Convention, the Statue of Liberty reopening, and the Summer Olympics bid.

Gables worked for Black Enterprise Business Report, a Nationally syndicated television show, focusing on consumer finance and the biggest newsmakers on Wall Street from January 2007 to January 2010 before joining WFAA-TV. Before joining CBS46, she served as a Primary Evening News Anchor and Investigative Reporter for KTBS – TV from August 2016 to March 2018. Previously, Shon served as a Morning and Noon News Anchor and Reporter for WFAA-TV in the Dallas/Fort Worth Area from January 2010 to October 2014. Initially, she served as a Producer, Event Host, and Motivational Speaker at Shon Gables Productions, LLC. from January 2006 to January 2008.
Before joining WCBS | CBS New York, she worked for WDIV in Detroit as a morning anchor and reporter. Shon also worked for the American Cancer Society’s Southwest Michigan Division as a spokesperson and this motivated her to produce a breast cancer awareness two-hour special. In addition to this, she emceeds television specials such as The Tunnels to Towers Run and “Salute to NYC Schools: Truman High School. She also hosted a program and participated in the run in honor of Sept. 11, 2001, New York firefighters who died.
From WDIV, Shon moved to KVSP in Oklahoma City where she served as a news director. From KVSP in Oklahoma City, she moved to KWTV in Oklahoma City where she worked as an anchor, reporter, and producer. Additionally, Shon served as a Reservist of the United States Army for seven years and covered the issues affecting the US military Tinker Air Force Base. She began her career in Wichita, Kansas at KWCH where she anchored the station’s public affairs program.

Additionally, Gables received an American Women in Radio and Television’s Gracie Award, a National Black Achiever in Industry Award, and was one of Network Journal’s 40 under 40 Black Achievers. She also served on an all-boys public school in the Bronx, New York on the board of Eagle Academy.
