Before joining WBRC, he served at WIS-TV in Columbia, South Carolina as a News Anchor/Reporter for half a decade (from September 1998 to August 2003). Before that, he was working for KDFW-TV – FOX4 in Dallas, Texas as a Reporter/Anchor for 3 years (August 1995 – August 1998). Crocker has worked for CNN for 5 years (1990 – 1995). 

Growing up, he used to watch TV news and was first introduced to broadcasting by his brother, who does jazz radio in the New York area. While attending college, he started his career in broadcasting at WCLK radio in Atlanta, Georgia. From there, he began working as a reporter and producer at a number of radio stations in Atlanta, that is in the late 1980s. He started his TV career in the year 1990 at CNN. At CNN, he worked on stories such as the O.J. Simpson trial, the Los Angeles riots, and the fall of the Soviet Union. Occasionatinaly, Crocker also served as a fill-in anchor for CNN, CNN’s Airport channel, and Headline News.

Mentioning his education, Crocker is a proud alumnus of Morehouse College. He graduated from the college in the year 1984 with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Mass Communications. During his stint there, he served as a host for WCLK-FM Radio.
